What is your wish list for your industry from Budget 2015? Please elaborate.

With Sh.NarendraModi’s first Budget as a PM of India, and being considered as a Pioneer for development of Industries as shown with his past performance in Gujrat, We all are eagerly waiting for him to show what must be done for materializing the well proclaimed and shown “The Great Indian Dream”.

For my Industry I wish a larger percentage of Budget be proportioned for the Healthcare sector. Applicability of GST/Service Tax and VAT to not only Healthcare but all allied industries which are directly involved such as equipment and consumables manufacturers and Medical Insurance should be considered to be abolished in order to make healthcare affordable to the aamaadmi. Emphasis should be made to promote Medical Insurance amongst masses. A Rural centric focus will help in making “Health for All” a reality. Also Medical Colleges must be focused and there should be a drive to increase the seats in the existing ones and permit newer ones to come in.

How do you foresee the impact of Budget 2015 on the jobs/recruitment/skills scenario in your industry?

Well, “Acche Din Ayenge” is what everyone is waiting for. We all look forward for some radical steps and moves to boost trade, industry, service sectors. This inturn should generate jobs and skills in various fields including Health care. The Slogan ‘Made From India’ should not only focus on Manufacturing and Service but also promote Healthcare Tourism to India.

According to you, which are the industries that will get a push from this year budget?

I wish all including industries including Healthcare, Education, Insurance, Manufacturing, and Real Estate must get a push. It’s the need for the hour. Positive notion set today across industries can only lead to a strong foundation for the Modi Government and The Indian Dream can come true in next 5 to 10 years.

How investment/budget intervention in your industry will boost employment?

Needless say, with newer Hospitals and other models of Medical Service deliveries, will need more and more people. Rural focus will help generating employment opportunities in the villages.

How impetus on the skill space will change manpower landscape in your industry?

Healthcare is a very specialized space where only skilled personnel are required. There are a large number of Vacancies in most medical colleges being run across the country. There is a huge amount of Brain Drain which is happening despite the government investing so heavily in their education. A focus on retaining the skilled manpower and promoting their return to India along with boost to the Healthcare Infrastructure by tax incentivisation will initiate a positive note in the industry. It is much needed to emphasize on Private Rural Healthcare Development & Healthcare Courses. This will help in rationalizing the skewed Doctor Population Ratio for both Rural and Urban Population.
