Teams at S.L Raheja Hospital- A Fortis Associate organized cleanliness drive to commemorate the 3rdAnniversary of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan

~ Over 200 residents from Mahim, Dharavi, Matunga and Dadar team-up with staff at SL Raheja Hospital and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC), Bunts Sangha, Lions Club of Mahim and the Association of Hotels & Restaurants (AHAR) to keep Mumbai’s streets litter-free ~

On the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of Hon’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyaanwhich was celebrated yesterday, teams at S.L Raheja Hospital – A Fortis Associate organized a cleanliness Drive, in the peripheral areas of the hospital. The drive was aimed at spreading the message of better living and inculcating the idea of cleanliness and hygiene among Mumbaikar’s.


This initiative witnessed participation from over 200 Mumbaikar’s, who took an active part in the cleanliness drive, covering areas fromMatunga(West) to Gangavihar to Ruby Mill to S.BRoad and back to Matunga Station. The cleanliness drive witnessed presence of Mrs.Anu Rane, Supervisor,Dept. of Solid Waste Management, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC), Mr. Suresh Shetty, Vice Chairman, Bunt Samaj, Mr.OanRunwal, President, Lions Club(Mahim), Mr.Adarsh Shetty, President,  Association Of Hotel & Restaurants (AHAR) and Dr. Shanti Radhakrishanan, Medical Superintendent, S. L Raheja Hospital – A Fortis Associate,who joined their fellow Mumbaikar’s to clean up the streets.

Speaking about the initiative,Dr Bipin Chevale, Chief Executive Officer, S. L Raheja Hospital – A Fortis Associate and Zonal Director, Fortis Healthcare said,“We are heartened to see the society come together in support of a strong purpose, with their fellow citizens, envisioning litter-free Mumbai. As responsible citizens, it is our duty to ensure that our surroundings are kept clean, keeping diseases at bay and ensuring overall health. We will continue to host more such initiatives where we will work with the society, for the benefit of the society”.

Commemorating the initiative, MrsAnu Rane, Supervisor, Dept. of Solid Waste Management, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC), said,“As administrators of the city, it is our duty to follow and inculcate guidelines to keep our city litter-free. We are happy to partner with such socially responsible partners, who are helping us work with the community for the betterment of the city. We hope to have encouraged our fellow Mumbaikar’s to embrace the purpose of this initiative ‘Clean City, Clean Country’.
