Union Health Ministers Uneveils National Digital Health Blueprint

The Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare Harsh Vardhan recently released the National Digital Health Blueprint (NDHB) in the government domain in an effort to establish a national database of digital health documents. In the next three weeks, the Union Health Ministry also welcomed suggestions from different stakeholders on the same.

The minister said the NDHB is focused on offering effective and accessible health coverage through a wide range of data and infrastructure facilities, leveraging open digital systems to guarantee the safety and privacy of private information.

He called on all stakeholders to provide their valuable feedback and inputs more inclusive and cooperative in making this “digital revolution.” “Digital health interventions speed up this transition and have enormous potential to support universal health coverage (UHC). India has everything to make health available for all, “said Vardhan.

Stressing the inclusion of multiple digital health facilities, Vardhan said the need for the hour is to build an ecosystem that can incorporate current health information systems and provide a definite route for future Electronic Health Record (EHR) programs to ensure interoperability.

“By launching Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which operates on a solid IT Platform, we have created a mark in history. Other IT-enabled schemes such as Reproductive Child Healthcare, NIKSHAY, etc. also benefit patients with proper service delivery at the correct moment,” he said.
