A state-of-the-art respiratory testing facility has been set up at Sunshine Hospital in Hyderabad, which will be particularly helpful for sportspersons.
Speaking at the facility’s launch on Saturday, former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman said, “As elite sportsmen, we had to go to Sydney, Johannesburg or London earlier to undergo such testing. So I’m really happy that Hyderabad will now have a world-class facility for the sportepersons.”
The unit carries under one roof tests such as spirometry, lung diffusion capacity, oscillometry of impulses and body plethysmography.
“This laboratory will assist physicians to assess the breathing difficulties of patients as well as other breathing and cardiovascular issues. It can evaluate any issue with sports personnel general performance,” said Dr. AV Gurava Reddy, MD, Hospitals Sunshine Group.
