“We are very happy to commence services in Udaipur with the acquisition of Fortis J K Hospital. Paras Healthcare has acquired the entity through Rs 50 crores investment. Paras J K Hospital, Udaipur furthers our objective of establishing advanced tertiary care facilities in the under-served Tier II and Tier III cities of India. Cities like Udaipur have large populations but lack of quality tertiary care forces people to travel long distances to nearby metro cities, particularly for advanced healthcare needs such as cancer care. We are working to fill this void through our strategic expansions. We are also spending Rs 100 crore over 2 years in upgrading the infrastructure and services at the hospital,” says Dr Dharminder Nagar, Managing Director, Paras Healthcare.
Udaipur district has a huge population of around 20 lacs. Additionally, the adjoining areas of Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Banswara, Mount Abu, Durgapur, Neemuch and Mansor together constitute a population of up to 1 crore people. In the absence of an advanced tertiary care corporate hospital, a large number of patients requiring advanced care have to travel to Ahmedabad. Paras JK Hospital, Udaipur aims to serve this huge population by bringing quality healthcare closer to their homes.
Oncology will be a key specialty for the hospital as lack of quality cancer care facilities is a major void in this region. The hospital also has in place the finest infrastructure and multidisciplinary teams for Trauma and Critical Care in the region and strives to create a world class trauma centre.
Key clinical programs include Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Neurosurgery, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Urology and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
Paras Group currently operates 9 hospitals across India. These include Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon; Paras Bliss, Gurgaon; Paras HMRI Hospital, Patna; Paras Cancer Centre, Patna; Paras Global Hospital, Darbhanga; Paras Hospitals, Panchkula; Paras Bliss, Panchkula; Paras HEC Hospital, Ranchi.
